Very good food. Have to take the Hida beef set for 3500yen. Totally worth it. You get rice and noodles so you are totally full after that. Very tasty 👌👌👌

The price is not cheap, but maybe because it is in a tourist area! !!But overall it ’s delicious. It ’s expensive for Hida beef. It ’s expensive but it ’s delicious. Been here before and changed this place for the second time this time! But not worth 4 stars

Meat you eat in a farmer's miso!

I believe that rating this restaurant depends on seasons, that how cold Shirakawago area is. You will enjoy Hakusuien's hot, fairly good quality and various foods, probably rate them great .

The beef is delicious! Especially with the addition of miso, it is more flavorful!

Hoba miso baked, boiled sweet potato stew, and bean noodles were also delicious. For some reason, the rice was from Yamagata, but it was also delicious. Chinese? I didn't feel like I was in Japan because there were so many (laughs)

The miso beef is delicious!! Udon and soba are delicious as well. The fish is salty but matches with the rice.The price is reasonable and it is a good place to have the lunch in the rainy day.

The opening hour is unreliable

It is unexpectedly delicious.I have to eat this at Shirakawago.You can choose udon or soba.I'm happy being able to stop at the parking lot of the shop when I make a meal reservation.

There is bear meat set meal !!! Other dishes are not bad, but bear meat is ordinary, just taste new

Great place for Japanese food. We have ordered hida beef and chicken lunch set. The hida beef was amazing! Service were great. Although we visit the restaurant in winter, the restaurant have heater which was great.

Nice typical restaurant with a very homely atmosphere. Sitting on the tatami we were able to enjoy excellent full menus. Excellent meat cooked directly at the table. Price not cheap but not excessive. In line with the tourist area in which it resides. If you want to save money, you can always focus on abundant dishes of noodles. Very nice and helpful staff.

Soba, udon and hidabeef

For me it's a decent restaurant. The experience is unique, but I believe there's better grade of Hida Beef. What I like from this space is very traditional. The Hida Beef I tried is the one grilled on the porcelain which is a bit hard to chew but my wife tried the normal menu which grilled with leaf the mix is great! I'll show you what we got. But its definitely great place to go eat during the cold.

Cozy restaurant specializing in the typical barbecue of the area. They have bone meat.

Seeing that there were not a lot of restaurants open during the time we went to Shirakawa we were lucky to discover this restaurant by accident. Immediately when you go inside, the smell of BBQ greets to in a good way. Their specialty is the local steak which was grilled on top of a leaf (very good) but I took the more adventurous route and opted to order the bear hotpot. (think of Yogi and Winnie the Pooh). The taste of the bear was not good but it wasn't bad either. It's just bear-y bland. Like tasteless beef. Price was reasonable. Staff was nice.

Shirakawa-go is rare without snow. I don't think it's snowing now ️
